Marian Marcatili is a practicing Ceramic Artist exploring various forms of the art in response to the natural beauty of the environment and surrounds of Lake Macquarie.

 

After relocating from Sydney in 2013 Marian’s works have been inspired by the environment of the lake and bushland that surrounds her, which she embraces and incorporates into her works, to create a sense of place and identity. 
 

Working mainly in porcelain Marian is currently exploring surface textures that are inspired by locally found plant species or the fluid nature of the lake itself.  

 

Since arriving at the lake Marian has established her studio at Wangi Wangi and is currently an exhibiting member of the Newcastle Studio Potters and Back to Back Gallery, Cooks Hill, Newcastle.
