I am a relative newcomer to ceramic art, having discovered the wonders of clay when I began studying fine arts at the University of Newcastle in 2007. Painting was my thing at the time but ceramics soon took over, I graduated with honours in 2010 as a ceramics major and am currently employed as the technical officer in the Ceramics studio at the uni.

I love the endless possibilities of clay as a medium and am learning something new with each project. Most of the inspiration for my work comes from the Australian landscape, the bush and hilly open spaces of our local areas. I enjoy the challenge of creating outdoor pieces which can be placed back into the landscape.

I have taken part in Sculpture in the Vines 2012 and was runner up in the Hunter region Botanic Gardens sculpture prize in 2012. I have been a member of Newcastle Studio Potters for 3 years and am a regular exhibitor and visitor at Back to Back Gallery.

I hope to be playing with clay for many years to come.
